New Cell Phone Law Starts Tomorrow!

Well it's been a long time coming but for the residents of California, we will no longer be able to drive and talk on the phone at the same time...well at least not directly through our phones. July 1st will kick off the "Hands Free" law in California, which prohibits the use of a cell phone while driving. The only way calls can be handled on the road now is through hands free Bluetooth devices. This law applies for everyone ages 18 and older. For those younger than 18 and have their driver's license, there is no cell phone activity permitted at all, that includes making outgoing calls, incoming calls, and text messaging with and without a Bluetooth device. The first citation will be $91 and the second offense will be $211, a pretty hefty price for just picking up your phone. Fortunately, many police stations around San Diego report that there will be a 30 day grace period where offenders will be given a warning rather than a citation. Watching the news today one reporter stated that although direct cell phone use is now prohibited in a vehicle anyone 18 and over can still text message "while driving." Haha now I love texting as much as the next guy and some people are good at texting while driving but looking at what the new law is trying to enforce...doesn't that just defeat the whole purpose? Quantum of Solace Trailer

The trailer for the new Bond movie just came out today and it looks sick. I loved the last one, it took the Bond franchise in a new and good direction so I can't wait for this one. It comes out November 7. (._.)

Tha Carter III

Man...there is many things that can be said about Lil Wayne and "the best," is definitely one of them. Just like over a million other people just like me, I have been listening to Tha Carter III all summer long. Wayne's long awaited album finally dropped and sold a record one million plus albums in its first week alone! The last time an artist pushed over one million records in a single week was back in 2004 with 50 Cent's "The Massacre" LP. No matter how you look at the album, it is extremely dynamic. With 16 tracks and 4 bonus tracks on the actual physical album (for those who actually bought it...ha I found these tracks leaked on the net anyway.) there is everything from the club bangers to the songs only Lil Wayne could produce. Of course there is "Lollipop" and "A Milli" which were both hits before the album even hit shelves. "Mrs. Officer" and "Shoot Me Down" are among my favorite tracks on the entire album. My absolute favorite track on the album though was "You Ain't Got Nuthin'" featuring Juelz Santana and Fabolous, it's so good, matter of fact it's my myspace profile song :). If you're into hip hop, you call yourself a "true" hip hop fan, or you just want to know what real hip hop is suppose to sound like, get this album NOW! Lil Wayne is on top of the world and as the hip hop game 's greatest MC right now, this album is definitely a testament to that. (._.)

Seeing Sounds

The latest album released by the group N.E.R.D (No One Ever Really Dies) is definitely a great album. When looking at the list of tracks included in the album many people would probably not recognize anything but as soon as you hear the album many of the songs become very familiar. If you've seen the mp3 player Zune's latest commercial for unlimited downloads for $14.99/month, the song that is played in the background is "Spaz" from the album. I've probably seen and heard that commercial a thousand plus times already. Another great track is "Everyone Nose" which was leaked on to the internet late in 07' with the catchy line, "All the girls standing in the line for the bathroom!" Another one of my personal favorite tracks to look out for is "Anti Matter. " Get this, there are some really unique sounds and themes that you don't see in a lot of other music today. The tracks will definitely get stuck in your head. (._.)

Soulja Boy vs. Ice T

If you haven't heard about it here it is. Ice T recently made a mix tape where he talks about how Soulja Boy's music is garbage and that he "single handily ruined hip hop."

Ice T.'s Video:

Soulja Boy comes back with his own video response, saying Ice T is an "Old as fuck!"

Soulja Boy's Video:

Finally, in another video Ice T. apologizes...but not really. He tells Soulja Boy he's, "fucked up."

Ice T's 2nd video:

Personally, I think Ice T is wrong and whack for what he said. All he is doing is hating on Soulja Boy and his music. Now yes, Ice T. is a hip hop veteran and "Superman" will never get any awards for lyrics but that doesn't make it garbage and not hip hop. Like Soulja Boy said, it's a new game. Besides if Ice T wants to argue and dis rappers and songs that he thinks have no substance why doesn't he say something to Lil Wayne who recently released a song, which repeats the word "Lollipop" a hundred times, that doesn't make it a bad song and it doesn't make it not hip hop. Point is things are different from when Ice T was in the game and he shouldn't be talking about something he has no idea about. Leave comments and tell me what you think. (._.)

Shaq Disses Kobe

This is crazy! I mean it is painful enough listening to Shaq rapping. Ha he has a lot of nerve when he's made movies like Shazam and a Shaq Fu video game. (._.)
