Iron Man 2 Pics: Johansson as Black Widow

So I follow Jon Favreau on Twitter and he just gave a link to an article showing an Entertainment Weekly magazine cover showing the stars from his upcoming movie Iron Man 2. On the cover you can see Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Mickey Rourke dressed up as Iron Man, Black Widow, and Whiplash respectively. Further into the article is a picture of Johansson in the middle of a scene as the Black Widow. I'm kind of a fanatic when it comes to comic books and superheroes so I may be just a little too excited about this but I can't wait for the movie, it's looking like it's going to be great. Here is the link to the article: "EW Cover" and here's Favreau's Twitter if you want to follow him, his twitter is one of the few worth following. <('.'<)

Google Voice

This seems so revolutionary and simple. Google voice is essentially a universal contact system. Voice gives you a personal phone number, which your friends and family can contact you with. With Voice you can choose where people are sent when they call a specific number given to you by Google. Your calls can be forwarded to your mobile phone, home phone, or your computer. You can set up as many phones as you would like to the system and choose which ones will get forwarded calls. You can even specify certain callers to go to certain phone or even go straight to voicemail. Calls can be screened before you even answer, imagine listening to the caller before you even pick up! You can also record calls, listen to them on your computer or even download voicemails for playback on your computer. The service is only available by invite right now, you can sign up for an inivitation here as well as learn more about this truly awesome service. <('.'<)

The Verdict: Bruno

This movie had me at a loss for words after I saw it, but what else would I have expected from the guy who brought us "Borat?" Anyway, the movie Bruno is an over the top documentary about an outrageously gay Austrian fashion designer who tries to make it big in the states. Just like in his previous movie, Sacha Baron Cohen plays a character who infiltrates our U.S. culture and shows its not so pleasant and intolerant nature in very outrageous ways. You haven seen gay characters try to be funny in movies before but I promise you you have never seen a more homosexual character in a movie than Bruno. But that is the problem with the movie, Bruno is too gay, yes too gay. He is so over the top with his sexuality that it's really not that funny, it's obvious that he is trying to make everyone as uncomfortable as possible. Along with his sexuality the movie in general tries a little bit to hard in my opinion, just take the opening scenes with Bruno and his boyfriend and you'll know what I mean. Don't get me wrong though the movie does have its funny parts including the scene with Bruno and his boyfriend. My favorite scenes include Paula Abdul (yes), a shaman, and a dominatrix at a swingers party, it's just too much. Also, I like how Bruno's character brings to light our American culture and its flaws such as our intolerance of homosexuals and the exploitation of U.S. immigrants.(If you see the movie you will see what I mean, quite literally.) Anyway, I'm not really sure what to suggest about this movie since I feel it is something you have to see for yourself to decide if it was good or not, it's a personal experience. Definitely don't go if you're easily offended, especially when it comes to issues of race, religion, and sexual orientation. I give Bruno 3 out of 5 *'s <('.'<)

Obama Ass Peek

OK listen up people, there is no reason why this should even be a hot topic. Some wise guy or girl decided to make still shots out of video of Obama at the G8 summit helping a woman down from a platform. While Obama is helping this woman come down from the platform behind him another woman is climbing up. As Obama looks down to make sure there is space to help the woman come down it looks like he is looking at the other woman's butt. (Look at the video at the link below) Crazy what you can do when you freeze video huh? People are just trying to find ways to bring Obama down, hang in there buddy. <('.'<)

Jay Leno and a 3D Scanner for car parts

I couldn't believe this when I saw it. The scanner takes thousands of measurements per second, and even records the color of the car part and makes up a 3D model with the accompanied software on your computer. Once the model is uploaded to your computer you can then have a plastic copy made from the 3D model on your computer. This plastic model is made to scale from the original part and is used to make sure the replacement part will fit without making expensive copies that may or may not fit. <('.'<)

Ron Artest a Laker!?

Wow I really think this is a mistake, what do you think? Less then two months ago Artest was all up in Kobe's face trying to clown him in the semi-finals. And let's not forget the fiasco when he was a Pacer. Money talks and Artest is a good player but I don't think he is the right fit for the team. Ariza is out so I guess they need someone to fill the void but I'm just not sure it's going to work. <('.'<)

District 9: Play on U.S. Illegal Immigration Isssues

Peter Jackson is about to release his new movie District 9 this summer and I have a filling it's going to be controversial. When I saw the trailer in theaters my dad had already called the movie "racist." District 9 is about aliens who land on Earth and are given a specific piece of land by the U.S. government. Unknown to the aliens is the government has actually given them this land to gain access and knowledge to their weapons. During their stay in District 9 the aliens are mistreated by the U.S. and eventually team up with a federal agent who uncovers this entire scandal. The real controversy is the similarities between the treatment of the aliens in the movie and the real life treatment of non U.S. citizens in our country. Although illegal immigrants are not given a piece of land to inhabit in the U.S. there is something to be said about the exploitation of each population in each situation, one for the use of their technology and the other as a vital work force. Check out the viral video below the trailer and you can get a good feel for what the movie will be like. Whether for the good or the bad this movie will be the talk of the town when it hits the big screen. <('.'<)

OK, so I came across these photos on Kanye West's blog and thought wow, these are different from what I'm used to seeing from Lady Gaga. I was thinking to myself, "These aren't bad." So what do you think good look or better luck next time for Gaga? <('.'<)

The Verdict: Year One

So while everyone is hyped up on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen I actually got some time to checkout "Year One" starring Michael Cera and Jack Black. The premise is very simple, two cave men travel around the Earth to see what it offers in the year one B.C. The movie was surprisingly biblical, the director and writers definitely had some religious knowledge. Cera and Black went to the tree of knowledge, met up with Cain and Abel, and even met up with father and son Abraham and Isaac. There is definitely a history lesson hidden in this movie but if you are not much of a religious person or don't know this figures and places, don't worry the movie is funny as is. Jack Black is outrageous as ever and for once it works out perfectly, I guess a caveman is the perfect character for him. Michael Cera had me rolling to, he continues to do what he's been doing from his breakout movie "Superbad," being the smart allicky, sarcastic, timid and shy guy. Both Black and Cera together is a great match up, they played off each other very well. If you're looking for a really good laugh go see "Year One," you won't be disappointed. I give "Year One" 5 out of 5 *'s. <('.'<)

Billy Mays Dies At the Age of 50

I can't believe this, I mean it wasn't like Mays was a mega super star but it's so unexpected and sudden. Ironically, he died at the age of 50 only days later than someone else who died at the same age but had somewhat of a larger following. Mays was found dead in his house in Florida Sunday morning. The day before his wife reported he had hit his head when his airplane made a rough landing and went to bed later that night not feeling well. Mays was known for his booming voice and selling products during infomercials such as OxiClean and Orange Glo. He recently had a show too with other infomercial salesmen called "Pitchmen" on the Discovery Channel. Billy Mays you will be missed, no one will ever get the job done quite like you did. <('.'<)

And now it begins...

So yesterday Michael Jackson died and today everyone is in mourning. I'm thinking many people will be in morning for weeks to come or even until his funeral services. Until then you can find Michael Jackson everywhere, shooting up at the top of itunes' download charts, MTV's marathon of Michael Jackson videos, and CNN's around the clock coverage of Michael's death at the UCLA medical center. I've also found everything from inspirational posters, to t-shirts, like the one shown here. In his absence Mr. Jackson's fans have suddenly come together in rememberance of his musical legacy and it is evident that his impact on the world is timeless. <('.'<)

Shaq is Traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers

Well I guess I should have seen this coming. LeBron James and Shaquille Oneal will being playing together next season and they both have their eye on the prize. It's been long said that James did not posses the right tools to win a championship and now he has a big tool Shaq. What is being called by some the "rent-a-Shaq program," Cleveland is hoping their new big man can help them gain their first NBA title. It remains to be seen if Shaq and LeBron's can create an unstoppable force that no Dwight Howard or Kobe Byrant can defeat. We're just going to have to wait and find out. <('.'<)

Michael Jackson Dies at the age of 50 (1958-2009)

Today at 3:15 PM Pacific time Michael Jackson was pronounced dead. He had went into cardiac arrest in his Bel Air mansion when he was later rushed to the UCLA medical center but doctors were unable to resuscitate him. I just can't believe this, it seems so abrupt. Michael reached incredible highs and horrible lows but it is hard to say what he will be remembered for the most. I'm hoping most people will remember him for the icon he was and all the good things he contributed to the world rather than a bizarre man no one really knew. <('.'<)

The Verdict: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

So after waiting and following all of its production for almost an entire year, I finally saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen this morning at 12:01 AM! This movie is the perfect summer film and an awesome follow up to the 2007 Transformers blockbuster. If you didn't already know this movie is two hours and thirty minutes long and they have managed to pack a lot in this time frame. There are explosions, special effects, more robots, beautiful girls (yes there is temporarily someone other than Megan Fox), sleek looking cars including the new supercharged Camaro and concept Stingray Corvette, and there's a decent story as well. This time around we begin two years after the events of the last film and Sam Witwicky aka Shia LaBeouf is going to college. He decides he is ready to live a normal life and decides not to bring his Autobot guardian Bumblee to college. He is also forced to leave behind his girlfriend Mikaela aka Megan Fox who once again is the eye candy for movie. Without giving too much of the story away Sam goes to college and soon becomes wrapped up in a conflict involving the Autobots, Decepticons, and the Earth. He has something in him which ultimately makes him the main focus of the movie. I liked the story a lot, it was a good continuation from the last movie. Being a long movie though the story does tend to drag during the middle of the movie and things don't flow consistently. I would say the first hour is awesome and has a great pace, then the second hour or so is when things begin to drag. There are a lot of plot developments which carry on for too long, you begin to lose interest for a bit but then the last thirty minutes kick in and it's a race to the finish. Surprisingly the movie was actually pretty funny, many new characters contributed in a big way. Whether it was Sam's mom getting high at college, Sam's college roommate Leo Spitz aka Ramon Rodriguez screaming in fear, or the two new Autobot twins Mudflap and Skid speaking gangster slang, the movie has a lot of laughs. Speaking of new characters there a lot of new additions, both human and machine. A disappointing point in the movie though was there were a slew of new characters but you barely get to see them throughout the movie. The special effects are superb the best I think in any movie. The action in this film is amazing, easily ten times better than what was shown in the last film. Another disappointment though was some of the battle scene were a little too short and anti climatic, some robots should have put up more of a fight than they did, even the final battle was rushed. All these minor problems aside, go see this movie, it'll be one the best times you've had at the theaters all year. I plan on seeing it again in Imax in the next couple of weeks, my brother saw it and said it was awesome. I give Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen 5 out of 5 *'s. <('.'<)

Louis Vuitton Footwear

This stuff is crazy. I think these shoes are even better than Kanye's Air Yeezys, too bad they come at a high price. I'm not to sure what the exact retail price is but I think I remember it being someone upwards of $600 for one pair. Being the "Louis Vuitton Don" I think this shoe was more of an accomplishment for Kanye than to make a shoe for the people, that's what the Yeezys were for. <('.'<)

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard

I'm going to see this movie solely because Jeremy Pivens is so good. If you haven't already watched the HBO series "Entourage," do yourself a favor and watch it and see what I'm talking about. <('.'<)

The Last Airbender Trailer

This is awesome, I heard they were making this movie a while ago and now this trailer has me super pumped. <('.'<)

Movie Trailer

Ok so I saw Transformers last night or rather 12:01 AM this morning and it was awesome but before I get to my review here's a trailer to a movie I've been hearing about for a while, 2012. Very intense, a lot of people think it's all going to end in 2012 and here's how Hollywood sees it going down.

Note: Did you catch who was president in the video, yes that was Danny Glover. I guess whenever there is an apocalyptic event happening we have to have a black president. Remember the Fifth Element and Deep Impact, Deebo and Morgan Freeman both had to deal with the world coming to an end in the oval office. <('.'<)

What I've Been Doing...

So yeah, it's summer time and I've been busy. Looking for a job, going to the movies, the beach, I've been everywhere. Well I finally got a job in Long Beach and now I'm here at my house just hanging out with my friends. It's been a rollercoaster but there is no fun in a boring summer. Anyway here's some pics Long Beach. Backyard fried rice!!! <('.'<)
