New Halloween Movie from Rob Zombie!!! "H2"

Wow this movie looks intense, and did you see the blonde girl, I didn't know Lady Gaga was an actor! <('.'<)

District 9: Play on U.S. Illegal Immigration Isssues

Peter Jackson is about to release his new movie District 9 this summer and I have a filling it's going to be controversial. When I saw the trailer in theaters my dad had already called the movie "racist." District 9 is about aliens who land on Earth and are given a specific piece of land by the U.S. government. Unknown to the aliens is the government has actually given them this land to gain access and knowledge to their weapons. During their stay in District 9 the aliens are mistreated by the U.S. and eventually team up with a federal agent who uncovers this entire scandal. The real controversy is the similarities between the treatment of the aliens in the movie and the real life treatment of non U.S. citizens in our country. Although illegal immigrants are not given a piece of land to inhabit in the U.S. there is something to be said about the exploitation of each population in each situation, one for the use of their technology and the other as a vital work force. Check out the viral video below the trailer and you can get a good feel for what the movie will be like. Whether for the good or the bad this movie will be the talk of the town when it hits the big screen. <('.'<)

Hot or Not?: Lady Gaga's Maxim Spread

OK, so I came across these photos on Kanye West's blog and thought wow, these are different from what I'm used to seeing from Lady Gaga. I was thinking to myself, "These aren't bad." So what do you think good look or better luck next time for Gaga? <('.'<)

The Verdict: Year One

So while everyone is hyped up on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen I actually got some time to checkout "Year One" starring Michael Cera and Jack Black. The premise is very simple, two cave men travel around the Earth to see what it offers in the year one B.C. The movie was surprisingly biblical, the director and writers definitely had some religious knowledge. Cera and Black went to the tree of knowledge, met up with Cain and Abel, and even met up with father and son Abraham and Isaac. There is definitely a history lesson hidden in this movie but if you are not much of a religious person or don't know this figures and places, don't worry the movie is funny as is. Jack Black is outrageous as ever and for once it works out perfectly, I guess a caveman is the perfect character for him. Michael Cera had me rolling to, he continues to do what he's been doing from his breakout movie "Superbad," being the smart allicky, sarcastic, timid and shy guy. Both Black and Cera together is a great match up, they played off each other very well. If you're looking for a really good laugh go see "Year One," you won't be disappointed. I give "Year One" 5 out of 5 *'s. <('.'<)

Billy Mays Dies At the Age of 50

I can't believe this, I mean it wasn't like Mays was a mega super star but it's so unexpected and sudden. Ironically, he died at the age of 50 only days later than someone else who died at the same age but had somewhat of a larger following. Mays was found dead in his house in Florida Sunday morning. The day before his wife reported he had hit his head when his airplane made a rough landing and went to bed later that night not feeling well. Mays was known for his booming voice and selling products during infomercials such as OxiClean and Orange Glo. He recently had a show too with other infomercial salesmen called "Pitchmen" on the Discovery Channel. Billy Mays you will be missed, no one will ever get the job done quite like you did. <('.'<)

And now it begins...

So yesterday Michael Jackson died and today everyone is in mourning. I'm thinking many people will be in morning for weeks to come or even until his funeral services. Until then you can find Michael Jackson everywhere, shooting up at the top of itunes' download charts, MTV's marathon of Michael Jackson videos, and CNN's around the clock coverage of Michael's death at the UCLA medical center. I've also found everything from inspirational posters, to t-shirts, like the one shown here. In his absence Mr. Jackson's fans have suddenly come together in rememberance of his musical legacy and it is evident that his impact on the world is timeless. <('.'<)

Shaq is Traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers

Well I guess I should have seen this coming. LeBron James and Shaquille Oneal will being playing together next season and they both have their eye on the prize. It's been long said that James did not posses the right tools to win a championship and now he has a big tool Shaq. What is being called by some the "rent-a-Shaq program," Cleveland is hoping their new big man can help them gain their first NBA title. It remains to be seen if Shaq and LeBron's can create an unstoppable force that no Dwight Howard or Kobe Byrant can defeat. We're just going to have to wait and find out. <('.'<)

Michael Jackson Dies at the age of 50 (1958-2009)

Today at 3:15 PM Pacific time Michael Jackson was pronounced dead. He had went into cardiac arrest in his Bel Air mansion when he was later rushed to the UCLA medical center but doctors were unable to resuscitate him. I just can't believe this, it seems so abrupt. Michael reached incredible highs and horrible lows but it is hard to say what he will be remembered for the most. I'm hoping most people will remember him for the icon he was and all the good things he contributed to the world rather than a bizarre man no one really knew. <('.'<)

The Verdict: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

So after waiting and following all of its production for almost an entire year, I finally saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen this morning at 12:01 AM! This movie is the perfect summer film and an awesome follow up to the 2007 Transformers blockbuster. If you didn't already know this movie is two hours and thirty minutes long and they have managed to pack a lot in this time frame. There are explosions, special effects, more robots, beautiful girls (yes there is temporarily someone other than Megan Fox), sleek looking cars including the new supercharged Camaro and concept Stingray Corvette, and there's a decent story as well. This time around we begin two years after the events of the last film and Sam Witwicky aka Shia LaBeouf is going to college. He decides he is ready to live a normal life and decides not to bring his Autobot guardian Bumblee to college. He is also forced to leave behind his girlfriend Mikaela aka Megan Fox who once again is the eye candy for movie. Without giving too much of the story away Sam goes to college and soon becomes wrapped up in a conflict involving the Autobots, Decepticons, and the Earth. He has something in him which ultimately makes him the main focus of the movie. I liked the story a lot, it was a good continuation from the last movie. Being a long movie though the story does tend to drag during the middle of the movie and things don't flow consistently. I would say the first hour is awesome and has a great pace, then the second hour or so is when things begin to drag. There are a lot of plot developments which carry on for too long, you begin to lose interest for a bit but then the last thirty minutes kick in and it's a race to the finish. Surprisingly the movie was actually pretty funny, many new characters contributed in a big way. Whether it was Sam's mom getting high at college, Sam's college roommate Leo Spitz aka Ramon Rodriguez screaming in fear, or the two new Autobot twins Mudflap and Skid speaking gangster slang, the movie has a lot of laughs. Speaking of new characters there a lot of new additions, both human and machine. A disappointing point in the movie though was there were a slew of new characters but you barely get to see them throughout the movie. The special effects are superb the best I think in any movie. The action in this film is amazing, easily ten times better than what was shown in the last film. Another disappointment though was some of the battle scene were a little too short and anti climatic, some robots should have put up more of a fight than they did, even the final battle was rushed. All these minor problems aside, go see this movie, it'll be one the best times you've had at the theaters all year. I plan on seeing it again in Imax in the next couple of weeks, my brother saw it and said it was awesome. I give Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen 5 out of 5 *'s. <('.'<)

Louis Vuitton Footwear

This stuff is crazy. I think these shoes are even better than Kanye's Air Yeezys, too bad they come at a high price. I'm not to sure what the exact retail price is but I think I remember it being someone upwards of $600 for one pair. Being the "Louis Vuitton Don" I think this shoe was more of an accomplishment for Kanye than to make a shoe for the people, that's what the Yeezys were for. <('.'<)

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard

I'm going to see this movie solely because Jeremy Pivens is so good. If you haven't already watched the HBO series "Entourage," do yourself a favor and watch it and see what I'm talking about. <('.'<)

The Last Airbender Trailer

This is awesome, I heard they were making this movie a while ago and now this trailer has me super pumped. <('.'<)

Movie Trailer

Ok so I saw Transformers last night or rather 12:01 AM this morning and it was awesome but before I get to my review here's a trailer to a movie I've been hearing about for a while, 2012. Very intense, a lot of people think it's all going to end in 2012 and here's how Hollywood sees it going down.

Note: Did you catch who was president in the video, yes that was Danny Glover. I guess whenever there is an apocalyptic event happening we have to have a black president. Remember the Fifth Element and Deep Impact, Deebo and Morgan Freeman both had to deal with the world coming to an end in the oval office. <('.'<)

What I've Been Doing...

So yeah, it's summer time and I've been busy. Looking for a job, going to the movies, the beach, I've been everywhere. Well I finally got a job in Long Beach and now I'm here at my house just hanging out with my friends. It's been a rollercoaster but there is no fun in a boring summer. Anyway here's some pics Long Beach. Backyard fried rice!!! <('.'<)

Good Wood!!!

So I was looking around on the internet last night and found this awesome company that does custom jewelry called Good Wood. These guys take dark and like wood and carve necklaces, pins, bracelets, and rings out of them. Some of the work includes a 2Pac chain, a cat chain, 1/2/3/4 finger rings, and even an Obama chain, ring, and pin set. The best thing though is it's not that expensive so you won't break the bank trying to look good.<('.'<)

I Got Published in the Unofficial Iron Man 2 Blog!!!

So you remember yesterday when I posted up a picture of Mickey Rourke wearing his Whiplash costume for the Iron Man 2 movie? Well I follow movie blogs that follow the production of upcoming blockbusters and I just so happened to be browsing over the (unofficial) Iron Man 2 blog and saw they didn't have the picture up yet that I had posted. So being a good Samaritan I emailed them the photo and yours truly got a shout out!<('.'<)

Ironman 2 Villian: Whiplash (Mickey Rourke)

This is pretty intense considering this movie doesn't even come out til next summer. The suit looks kind of ridiculous to me but I haven't seen the character in action and after Rourke's performance in the Wrestler I'm sure there are only good things to come. <('.'<)

Big News From Apple!

Well it's that time again for Apple to take over the electronic world at their WWDC 2009 show, the same place they unveiled the now well-known iPhone two years ago. Not only is Apple releasing a new iPhone and iPhone O.S. 3.0, but they are slashing the price of the current 8GB 3G iPhone in half. Yes my friends, the iPhone 3G is now $99, sounds affordable to me, that's just $25 more than the new iPod shuffle! The new iPhone 3GS will be $199 with 16GB of memory and a 32 GB unit will run $299. The new 3GS is not much different from the current 3G as far as appearance goes, the real goods are in the hardware. There is a faster processor as well as a 3 MP camera with video playback and auto focus. There is even a built in compass, that reorients maps to match the directions you're facing. Just think, a couple of years ago people were waiting in line to shell out $499 for the iPhone and now you can get it for $100. Good things come to those who wait. <('.'<)

The Verdict: The Hangover

Last night I saw "The Hangover" and I haven't laughed so hard in theaters in a long time. The premise of this movie is simple, a couple of guys go out to Vegas for a bachelors party, have a wild night out, wake up the next morning, can't remember anything, and are missing their friend who is getting married the next day. This movie is crude, filled with a lot of dirty humor and I love it. From the moment all the guys meet up the jokes and weird moments start flying. Alan or fat Jesus is one of my favorite characters in the movie, he is a weird guy but he keeps bringing the laughs throughout the movie. Whether it is taking a stun gun to the face or having a naked Asian man pop out of the trunk of a car, these guys get into a lot of trouble. Did I mention they have a run in with Mike Tyson? This movie is insane, it has a crazy plot, and is hilarious, the perfect summer comedy. I give the Hangover 5 out of 5 *'s. <('.'<)

The Verdict: Up

This past week I was able to see "Up," and I have to say Pixar have outdone themselves this time. Not since Toy Story has Pixar made such a playful and creative movie, I mean who else comes up with a flying house by hanging from thousands of balloons? In the beginning you meet a young boy named Carl who idolizes world adventurer Charles Muntz . Carl later meets a young girl named Ellie who also idolizes and pretends she is Charles Muntz. Without giving too much of the story away Carl promises Ellie they will go and live at Paradise Island where their idol, Charles Muntz was known to travel to. Carl grows old and decides to fly his house with balloons to Paradise Island and thus the adventure begins. Along the journey you meet Russell, a young boy scout who is a stowaway on Carl's house. As the movie goes on you notice that a lot of this movie's strength comes from it's distinct characters, whether it be old Carl, young Russell, or even talking dogs, these characters grab your attention and have you wrapped up in their conflicts and aspirations. The unlikely duo of Carl and Russell is a fresh character relationship not seen in many movies, which contrasts the young and the elderly in a very funny and enjoyable way. With any Pixar movie "Up" has superb 3D animation. The movie is also in 3D and all though things to do not necessarily come out at you, the addition of the 3D glasses gives the movie a high amount of clarity. The music in this movie is excellent too, every moment whether it is happy or sad you can feel it. Up is definitely a summer movie that anybody can enjoy. I give "Up" 5 out of 5 *'s. <('.'<)

Nike Marty McFly's!!!!

Man I want these shoes so bad, hopefully they come out eventually. Nike just released some lame Kobe Hyperdunks that are inspired by this shoe but I'm not buying it. I guess I have to wait til 2015 according to the movie. <('.'<)

New PSP Go!

This things got 16 GB of internal memory, no UMD Disc drive, slide down controls, 3.8 inch screen, bluetooth connectivity, and downloadable content (games, movies, music, television shows, etc.) It looks sick, but for everyone who has the older PSPs, what are you suppose to do with all your UMD discs. The unit is dropping this fall so we'll see how it turns out. <('.'<)
